In case you haven’t heard, August is Sales Enablement Month. And as sales enablement enthusiasts we wanted to do something special. So to celebrate one of sales enablement’s core tenets, Bigtincan has established National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day!

What is National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day?

One of sales enablement’s main functions is to bring together two traditionally siloed departments and help them work together toward a single goal: leading customers to smart purchasing decisions. 

From this year on, National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day will take place during Sales Enablement Month on August 3. Companies can use the day to celebrate the two teams coming together to empower themselves and customers and foster seamless buying experiences.

Why does it matter?

While National Salesperson Day is celebrated on the second Friday in December and National Marketing Operations Day is celebrated on April 11 each year, there isn’t a day that recognizes how the two departments work together to establish lasting client relationships for businesses of all kinds. 

This day will celebrate the two teams collaborating in order to highlight the work that both do that lead to strong and flourishing businesses across the country, and even more importantly, happy customers.

Organizations and individuals can celebrate National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day with a variety of different events, including: 

  • A happy hour for marketing and sales teams
  • An off-site networking session
  • A joint lunch
  • Virtual coffee
  • Dedicated collaborative activities at your sales kickoff or annual company meeting
  • Highlight a recent project sales and marketing worked on together
  • Use the event to launch a new collaborative project

However teams decide to celebrate, the event should be designed to help build comradery between the two teams, which directly correlates to efficiency and effectiveness driving better business outcomes overall.
