Q. Does this application work on ...
A. BuzzMe Pro will work on Blackberry OS 4.2.1 and up - across most Blackberry phone types - it does sometimes depend on your exact phone and OS model - we are working to support all models over time
Q. What is the latest version?
A. The latest version is V2.2 for both BuzzMe Standard and BuzzMe Pro
Q. What are the latest new featues ...
A. BuzzMe v2.2. has a number of great new features - including;
- Support for MyColor - that lets you personalise your BlackBerry by creating your own color by mixing Green, Red, and Blue in a fun and easy to use interface
- The ability to TRY a config setting before you implement it
- and a number of great improvements in how the system works including a new way of handling SMS alerts that lets BuzzMe Pro work in conjunction with other SMS alerting apps
- a number of bug fixes and other performance improvements
Q: BuzzMe doesn't seem to work at all? It doesn't do anything on my phone?
A1: First make sure that BuzzMe is running in the background. After you launch BuzzMe to go back to your phone system don't use the escape button to leave the application - simply press the red call button instead - or press the SAVE button. BuzzMe will then be running in the background.
A2: You will also need to setup your PROFILE. We recommend that you select the "Normal" sound Profile then edit it by going to advanced and set the phone settings to "tone" for out of holster.
A3: We recommend that you do NOT use the LOUD profile with BuzzMe - we have had many users report that the LOUD profile affects the way BuzzMe works. We recomment NORMAL or PHONE or even a custom profile that you have created
A4: To allow BuzzMe to control your LED color you need to edit your Profile (PROFILE -> ADVANCED), go to Phone and and set the Repeat Notification setting to NONE, or on the STORM/TOUR Blackberry you to go SOUNDS -> PHONE and set the LED setting to OFF.
Q: Please tell me again what you mean by the "Profile"?
A: By profile we mean the Blackberry sound profile which is on the homescreen (the speaker symbol)
Q. Why doesn't the phone ring and vibrate at the same time?
A1. Did you select the tone only Profile, and make sure vibration is disabled, in the internal sound Profiles?
A2. You may need to select a longer ring, RIM in their infinite wisdom alternates short rings and vibration alerts
Q. Why does the missed call indicator LED show when I have no missed calls?
A1. in the BlackBerry you need to acknowledge a missed call in the same way that you would do a SMS or Email. You can find the missed call notification in your Messages application in the MISSED CALL folder.

Q. I cant seem to get the Missed Call alert to function. What am I doing wrong?
A1. To get the missed call alert to function to work you need to go to Missed Call Reminder setting in BuzzMe and select an LED color and a vibration time , and a TONE if you want it then press SAVE
A2. The time setting for the missed call alert is the interval for the alert - so it keep warning until you acknowledge the missed call, but that setting tells you how often the LED/TONE/VIBE will happen - so if is set for 10 minutes it will LED/TONE/VIBE every 10 minutes until the call is acknowledged
Q. My ringtone only sounds once when I get a call? Why?
A1. On some Blackberry models, we have found that if BuzzMe Call Vibration Length is set to "until stopped" it can cause some short ringtones to only ring once. If you set the Vibration Length to a different setting this problem is resolved on most phones.
Q. How do I setup and use MyColor?
A1. You setup MyColor by selecting MyColor in the OPTIONS menu
A2. You then create your own mix of Red,Green and Blue to create your own color - or you can press the Option key and select Enter HEX to enter your own color number
Q.Why doesn't my phone also vibrate and ring when I get a SMS/MMS message or email?
A1. We have added those features into the commercial BuzzMe Pro application. Its only US$2.99 and available at most good Blackberry app stores - you can also get it right from within BuzzMe using the Get Pro link.
Q. I have to start BuzzMe again everytime my phone reboots. Why?.
A1. We have also added auto reboot into the Pro version of BuzzMe. Its a standard feature of Pro and does just this - autorestart the app with your existing settings when you reboot the phone.
Q. What else is in BuzzMe Pro?
A1. BuzzMe Pro add features like additional colors (10 including 2 Disco modes), more options for vibration times, control of LED color for SMS, MMS and different colors and vibration settings for each email account, Facedown mode on the Blackberry Storm, 12 months unlimited customer support and upgrades. Not bad for the price of a coffee!?
Q. I've got the Storm - what is Facedown mode - and how do I use it?
A. Facedown mode is a feature of BuzzMe Pro. It lets you set your Storm "Facedown" on a table or other flat surface and have the vibration of BuzzMe turned off automatically. You need to turn Facedown mode to ON in BuzzMe Pro in your Storm and then it just works. Facedown notification mode just tells you when the phone is set Facedown by producing a short vibration.
Q. Why does my phone still vibrate when I set the Profile to silent or Off?
A1. Currently no third party application can access the information about internal sound profiles, so BuzzMe doesn't know you've selected silent. For the time being you need to disable vibration manually in the Buzz Me settings screen.
A2. BuzzMe Pro for the Storm has a cool feature where the vibration stops when you turn the phone "facedown" say on a nightstand overnight or in a meeting.
Q. I get an error message in the STATUS section. Does this mean BuzzMe is not working?
A2. Its possible that you have another application or setup on your device that is stopping BuzzMe Pro from being able to listen to your phone. We do our best to work around other apps and carrier imposed limits. If this does happen please use the Email Support in Options and we will do our best to help.
